MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS
MAY 20, 2013

Members Present: Rosemary Scully and James Dillon
Guest: Greg Maiser, Holden, MA
Motion made by James Dillon and seconded by Rosemary Scully. It was voted to approve the minutes from March 11, 2013.
2. FY’14 Reval
Discussed the current status of the reval. Data Quality surveys of properties
have been conducted by Gerry Creen of the Div of Local Services, and
Sandra Schmucki, a project manager from Vision Government Solutions
3. April 22, 2013: Jim and Rose met with John Boyce, at 32 Mayo Drive for a
tour of the renovated and expanded Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing
Center. Project started construction at the end of 2011 and was divided into
three phases. There are two new wings, an extension of an existing area. The
existing nursing home has been completed renovated. The new facility is a
very modern and “state of the art”. There is an entire area for short term
stays following surgery which requires rehabilitation.
64 Boyden Road: New medical office building began construction in 2012.
Reliant began seeing patients on the 1st and 3rd floor levels at the end of April
- At this point the 2nd floor is waiting to be leased and is unfinished.
The Board of Assessors voted to approve the following Real Estate Exemptions.
17 D Surviving Spouse: 11 1925.00
22 Disabled Veterans 78 37549.49
22A Disabled Veterans 1 750.00
22E Disabled Veterans 19 19000.00
37A Blind 8 4000.00
41 C Elderly 34 33500.00
Total for FY’13 151 $ 96724.49
Taxpayers had 90 days from the issuance of the Actual Tax Bill in which to file for a Real Estate Exemption.
- Rosemary Scully was appointed to the position of Principal Assessor, effective April 1, 2013
